Our name – iota – is derived from the word microbiota, defined as “living microorganisms present in a defined environment.” All our formulations help balance your microbiome for better skin health — a pillar of whole-body health that’s foundational just like gut health, nutrition, sleep and movement. iota – defined as an “infinitesimal amount” – is rooted in our AAPI heritage and belief that the attainment of one’s maximum potential consists of the sum of many small, productive actions taken consistently, with discipline, throughout life.

As a mom, I was frustrated why the products we use merely clean, scent or only treat skin issues after they occur? After years perfecting our formulations, we've made the first bodycare made for our health first, focused on balancing your skin microbiome-the foundation of healthy skin. Our formulas are dermatologist tested, clinically tested, allergy tested, non-irritating and free of sulfates, parabens and phthalates. Both our formulas and fragrances are EU compliant. iota is vegan and Leaping Bunny certified. We accept nothing less than the strictest manufacturing processes, and to both ensure the highest quality and minimize our carbon footprint, our formulations are made in the USA. We work with a scientific advisory board comprised of industry leaders who help guide our thoughts around the latest research and innovation.
Our bottles are designed using a mix of aluminum, sustainable bio-resin made from plants like sugarcane and corn and recyclable plastic. To offset our plastic footprint we are Plastic Negative Certified via rePurpose Global. For every amount of plastic we create, a measured 2x equivalent of plastic waste is recovered and removed from the environment. We are also Climate Neutral Certified, meaning that we offset our carbon emissions via carbon and clean energy credits that fund global carbon emissions reduction programs.
This year, as part of our work with rePurpose Global, we have chosen to support Project Neela Sapana in Chennai, India. This first-of-its-kind project entails the recovery and processing of low-value, single-use plastic waste such as multi-laminate plastic (MLP) to stem its flow into our natural ecosystem.
100% of our retail cartons are FSC Mix, which means our paper is sourced from a mix of FSC-certified forests, recycled material and FSC controlled wood.
