MANUFACTURING
We intentionally manufacture all of our formulas close to our head office and fulfillment center located in Vancouver, BC. This approach helps minimize transportation needs, lowers our carbon footprint, and conserves energy resources.
By manufacturing close to our head office, it allows us to produce responsibly, limit our waste, and maintain our high-quality standards. We prioritize local sourcing of materials whenever possible, further reducing our transportation requirements and emissions.
PACKAGING
We prioritize recyclable, compostable, and post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials whenever possible to reduce our environmental impact. Our formulas are intentionally packaged in low waste, reusable, or recyclable materials such as paper, glass, and PCR mono-materials.
Our packaging incorporates PCR components that give new life to existing materials. This effort is part of our ongoing commitment to reduce waste, with plans to expand refill options in the future.
We continue to minimize unnecessary materials in our manufacturing and shipping processes and are always exploring innovative, sustainable packaging solutions to further reduce our footprint. We have big plans for what this will look like for us in the future.

Being a member means we donate a minimum of 1% of every order to approved nonprofits that are close to our heart and dedicated to making a positive impact.
Our SkinProtect Blend is Saltyface’s signature approach to developing our tanning formulations. We combine DHA derived from organic sugar beets with antioxidant-rich and hydrating botanicals that protect, nourish and support the skin in addition to leaving a healthy and natural tan.
The SkinProtect Blend is unique to each one of our formulas, and tailored to each one to ensure we deliver the most effective results, while still ensuring an effortless application and an even, healthy tan.
At the beach, beauty feels effortless, life feels carefree. Capturing that feeling and embracing natural beauty is where it all started for founders David and Bethany. Having spent two decades in a city known for its endless rain, the couple always felt their best after sun-drenched beach days and set out to create products that allow you to feel like your summer self, year-round.
Bethany struggled to find a product that safely tanned her skin while meeting her standards of clean, high-quality, skin-focused ingredients that effortlessly fit into your routine. Unwilling to compromise on these standards, David and Bethany knew others would feel the same. A year and a half later, our best-selling Tanning Water and Freckle Paint (meeting each one of their standards) were launched.
